Football goes ahead as planned this Sunday at Churchill
This weekend's
football tournament goes ahead as planned at Churchilll playing fields.
Seniors kick-off at 9am prompt (Skip breakfast to avoid being late - Howard Catering will be there with coffee and bacon butties)
Juniors kick-off at 1pm prompt
Please do not be late - Any team that misses their first scheduled game will be unable to take part.

This weekend's Football
This weekend's
football tournament will go ahead as planned. The only question is venue. An inspection
of the Churchill pitches will take place on Wednesday. If they are deemed unfit
for play then the event will take place at Saddleworth School instead. An
update will be posted on the blog on Thursday morning
SVO Remaining Schedule
The
remaining schedule for the Village Olympics is:.
- Thursday - Senior badminton at
the school - 12-14 from 4.30pm, 15-16 from 6.30pm;
- Friday - Junior badminton - 7-9
from 4.30pm, 10-11 from 6.30pm;
- Saturday - two events:
cricket at Uppermill cricket club (senior 12-14 from 9am & junior [7-9
and 10-11] from 1pm; and tennis at Tame Valley (15-16 from 9am and 12-14
from 1pm);
- Sunday - football (venue to
confirm) - seniors (12-14 and 15-16) from 9am, and juniors (7-9 and 10-11)
from 1pm.
- Spirit of the Olympics awards
ceremony on Sunday before the start of the junior football.

Olympics Events Continue this Weekend
Friday night (16
September) sees the senior basketball at the school - age groups 12/14 and
15/16, entries will be accepted on the night, mixed teams accepted. The event
kicks off at 5.30pm;
Saturday (17 September) see the junior rounders at the school - age group 10/11 at 9am and age group 7/9 at 1pm;
Sunday (18 September) see two events: senior netball at the school (15/16 at 9am and 12/14 at 11am); and swimming at Saddleworth pool (9/11 at 2pm and seniors at 6pm).

SVO Committee member Lisa Shepherdson just wanted to talk about the job Saddleworth Runners have done in running athletics training sessions on Thursday nights over the summer.
